I’m excited to let you know that today at 3:30 PM MST, a brand new video premieres on the KassDays YouTube channel.

This one takes you behind the scenes at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta, where I had the chance to experience one of Canada’s most iconic equestrian traditions — the RCMP Musical Ride.
Spruce Meadows is an incredible venue that hosts so many world-class events throughout the year — from top-level show jumping competitions to family-friendly festivals and international tournaments. There’s always something exciting happening there. But if I’m being honest, my absolute favourite will always be anything to do with the horses… and the Musical Ride is pure magic.
In the video you’ll meet some of the dedicated RCMP officers, hear about their experiences serving at the coronation of King Charles III and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and watch a “half troop” of 16 horses perform those breathtaking precision cavalry drills set to music. The colour, the pageantry, the skill, and the bond between rider and horse — it’s everything I love about these events.
A little background: The RCMP Musical Ride has been wowing audiences since its first official performance in 1887. What began as a way for the North-West Mounted Police to demonstrate their horsemanship has become a beloved Canadian symbol of tradition, discipline, and pride.
