If you’re debating whether to spend a weekend at Calgary’s biggest outdoor event, we did the legwork for you! We grabbed our cameras and headed straight to the BMO Centre to see if the Calgary Outdoor & Adventure Show delivers on hype. Spoiler: it absolutely does.
From the moment we stepped onto the bustling show floor, we were surrounded by the latest and greatest in camping gear. We checked out brand-new tents, portable stoves, and clever setups that make weekend getaways easier than ever. Vendors were on hand to demo everything, so we could touch, test, and ask all the right questions. But the real gems? The local Alberta booths tucked away in the corners—hidden travel spots, secret hiking trails, and insider tips on exploring our own backyard that most visitors walk right past.We spent hours wandering the “where, what, and how” of Alberta adventures, chatting with passionate locals who know the province inside out. Whether you’re into car camping, back-country treks, or just upgrading your gear, there’s something here for every outdoor enthusiast.

Then came the highlight we couldn’t wait for: the Jump Jam at the Alberta Bike Show / Thrill Mountain area. We scored front-row standing space and captured the action in jaw-dropping slow-motion (slowed to 40% so you can see every detail). Epic jumps, perfect landings, and one spectacular wipe-out that had the whole crowd gasping—don’t worry, everyone walked away smiling and unscathed!

Practical info to make your visit smooth: Tickets are around $15 at the door (including tax), kids under 11 get in free, and parking at nearby Stampede Park runs about $18. The show runs Saturday 10 AM–6 PM and Sunday 10 AM–5 PM.
